A Note About Ticket Types:
There are three different Ticket Types. You will need to choose the appropriate one in order to register.
WA State Weatherization (WX) Agency, Tribal, or WA State Department of Commerce Staff: Those who are employees of a Commerce-recognized WA State Wx Agency, a staff member of one of WA State’s Tribes (with approval by Commerce), or Commerce staff. The list of Commerce-recognized WA State Weatherization Agencies can be viewed here.
WA State Wx Agency-Associated Contractor: Contractors working under one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above). At registration, you will be required to list the WA State Wx Agency(ies) you are associated with.
General Public/Non-Associated Contractor: Those who neither work for nor under (as a contractor) one of the WA State Wx Agencies (see above).
PREREQUISITE: To enroll in this course, students must be 18 or older and possess an active BPI Energy Auditor certification.
Comprehensive Quality Control Inspector*
Course Description
The Quality Control Inspector (QCI) course is based on a U.S. Department of Energy Job Task Analysis1 (JTA) of the same name (click here to view). The course is broken down into two days of instruction focusing on the job description/duties outlined in the JTA. Students will be exposed to and practice the skills needed to become a successful QCI. These skills include: conducting a review of required documentation, verifying the work performed against the work plan, observing in-process retrofit work, understanding specifications and standards, performing building and safety diagnostics, recording/reporting findings and concerns, and specifying corrective actions. This course is designed to prepare qualified students to take the BPI Quality Control Inspector certification exam. State-of-the-art technology is used in both the classroom and the labs to provide students with a high quality learning environment. Students will get feedback about learning progress by taking online quizzes via CHP’s Learning Management System (LMS) throughout the course.

- NA – The BPI Home Energy Professional QCI certification exam will be administered the following day.

Organization
This is a lecture-lab course. Topics will be presented in a classroom setting and then followed up with student involvement in the lab. The class will be geared toward little or no previous training in the field. Student participation is very important. Testing for this course will involve both a written and field practical.
Grading Criteria
This class does not have a final test. Students receive a certificate of attendance.
*Note: The BPI Quality Control Inspector certification is a separate test with an additional fee.
